This trick I found from the web, really speeds-up any* symbian mobile phone.
First I thought this is a joke, but don't know how, it worked !!!
It must be a secret code for Nokia.
First change ur phone date to 03/04/2005
Go to Menu -> office-> To-do List.
Make a new to do note with following data :
Subject : Speed
Due date : 04/08/2005
Priority : High
Press Done, but don't Exit.
Now make another note with :
Subject : Qoukie
Due date : 04/08/2005
Priority : Low
Press Done & Exit to Stand-By screen.
Now go back again to To-do List.
Then press "options" & "mark as done"
( Do this to the notes in the order above )
Exit & update the phone date.
*tested it on phone nokia n70, n6600, N73 and N95.

Removing Themes in s60v3
I'll move on to the first "Tips & Tricks" installment of my blog. Every so often I will provide what I hope to be some useful information that will help you get the most out of your s60 3rd device. I'll also try to cover some of the topics that I see constantly questioned on the forum over at mobile**** and elsewhere. One such topic is a problem that appears to be common to all s60 3rd devices.
Many people have experienced a bug where they will install a theme on their device but when they try to remove it using the Application Manager there is no entry for it. I still see this problem on the latest N80IE firmware and on newer firmware for other devices as well. Don't despair though, as long as you install your themes to your memory card there is an easy way to remove those unwanted themes.
1. Connect your device to your PC in 'Mass storage' mode - or insert your Mini SD card into a card reader and connect it to your PC.
2. Once your PC recognizes your card a new drive will appear under 'My Computer'. Open it, and browse to private10207114import.
3. Browse through each of the folders in this directory to find the theme you would like to remove. The MBM, MIF, and SKN files in each folder should each be named after the theme - so if you want to remove a theme called "MyTheme", look for "MyTheme.mbm" etc.
*Note that you may see some MBM/MIF/SKN files named simply "themepackage.mbm" etc. In this case, simply open the SKN file in Notepad and you will see the actual theme name in the first few lines of text.
4. Once you've found the folder containing the theme files you'd like to remove, simply delete the contents of the folder (don't delete the folder itself).
Now put your card back in your phone you'll notice that the theme is no longer listed under themes and you've freed up some space on your memory card.

How to remove a virus without installing antivirus
I tried this method on two n70s and it worked well. First of all you need to install x-plore on your device.
1> open x-plore
2> press 0 and tick all the boxes
3> now highlight C drive and click options>find and type *.sis . Delete all the files with 1-5kb sizes.
4> now again highlight drive C , click options>find and type *.exe and delete all the files
5> repeat step 5 for drive E.
YOU'R DONE
Some Viruses can't be deleted because they are running as process. If you try to close running process, x-plore will exit. Maybe your type is not a high risk virus
Press 0 in x-plore and mark the system application option. I think that should work.

Hold the :alt: key while you roll the thumb-wheel to scroll horizontally in any field where you can center or view text.

Rearrange the ribbon: In the Home Screen (ribbon), hold the :alt: key and click the thumb-wheel to bring up a menu. You can then select Move Icon, Hide Icon, or Show All. If you hide an icon to show it again click Show all and it'll appear with an X over it, bring up the menu on it and uncheck hide icon.
The BlackBerry display can be backlit to allow reading messages in the dark. To get the light to come on, hit the backlight button usually in the lower right of the keyboard.Hopefully you've a backlit keyboard as well as you can type in the dark.
Turning the radio off and back on when coverage is spotty and you've lost signal seems to help.Also going into network and selecting register now will help.And if you've a phone/combo BalckBerry then on some you can go into network and select Scan for networks. Then select the network you're on, for example T-Mobile, then save. After doing this, the radio will reset and you may receive a register message and a new service book, which you can accept from the service book menu in options.
Password protect your BlackBerry. To set a password, go to the Options menu to the Security item. Set the desired timeout (atleast 15 mins) and enable a password. In conjunction with this, you should also go to the Options menu to the Owneritem, and enter your name, phone number, etc. When the password protection kicks in, this is what is displayed on the screen.
After 5 incorrect attempts in typing in your password, the password starts echoing. After 10 attempts, it performs a lobotomy on itself and almost all data is ckeared. The Memo database, however, is retained and visible.
To support more than one signature. Wipe out your auto-signature in the Redirector of the Desktop Software and just use 'AutoText' to configure alternate signature.

The largest draw on battery life is the transmitter, so if you're transmitting a lot, you can expext reduced battery life.And the backlight.
Being in fringe or no coverage areas will eat up your battery as it attempts to transmit. If you're in an area that is out of range, turn BlackBerry's radio off manually or use Options/Auto On off to conserve battery life.
Geek Tips
=========
Rather than looking at the bars, you can change the display of the 'signal strength' to read in real numbers. While at the home screen, hold down the half moon :alt: key while you type NMLL. The bars should change to read numbers. For the 'signal strength', if you're in the 100 area(that means -100 dBm) you'll be transmitting at maximum power(2 watts), and since coverage is hit and miss at this weak signal, you may end up transmitting many times before the packets make it through.This might help explain any poorer than normal battery life. I consider anything at -90 to -50 excellent.

How To Transfer Or Move All Your Messages From Your S60 Phone Memory To Memory Card Easily
easily transfer any of your messages already residing in the phone memory causing your phone to process various operations at a slow speed due to the memory usage by the sms messages.

I have illustrated the entire procedure to move your sms messages in single with a four step below.
How to do it:
Make sure that Messaging memory is set to Phone Memory (Messages -> Settings -> Other -> Memory -> Phone memory).
With FExplorer, go to E:\System\Mail and delete the whole dir. Not just the content, the whole dir.
Go to Messages -> Settings -> Other -> Memory and select “MMC”
Now you will be prompted if you would like to copy the messages to your “new” location.
If you found some problem in implementing the steps listed below leave a comment here i will be glad to help you.
